Sergey Molodov’s handwritten self-instruction book for playing the accordion: a manuscript of the contemporary folk tradition

The article presents a textual description of the manuscript written by Sergey Molodov, an accordionist from Vologda, who developed his own school of playing accordion. Molodov’s school is based on original forms of instrumental and vocal music in digital tablature, supplemented by the author’s remarks. A special attention is paid to detailed depiction of the school’s repertoire, its genre components, and the principles of notation in the main part of Molodov’s handbook.
