This paper is devoted to the problem of inter-ethnic communications and influences of the Russian culture on the Komi folklore, exemplified in Komi of Luza, who form one of ethnic groups of the Komi, residing in Luza the river’s basin, in Priluzskiy district of the Komi Republic. Particularity of Luza Komi tradition is caused by that fact that entirely all songs of the oral repertoire were performed in Russian there. Speaking about degree of adaptation of texts in the foreign-language environment, it is worth emphasizing that whereas dancing and playing songs were performed in «broken» Russian, texts of lyrical songs are unlikely reproduced without considerable language transformations and represent classical samples of the Russian lyrics. Only separate words or phrases in lyrical songs can have «deviations» which indicate their borrowed («adapted») character. Special attention is paid to performers’ terminology of lyrical songs which exists in the native language of the tradition carriers. Features of functioning and ceremonial confinement of songs are elucidated. The entire Luza repertoire can be divided into two plot and thematic cycles: soldier’s (military recruiting) and love. As a result of the comparative analysis with plots of the Russian oral lyrics content-related specifics of the Luza repertoire were revealed. Features of the Luza songs are connected with an original combination of motives which are widespread by themselves in the Russian traditions. Besides, song texts which didn’t find analogs in publications of the Russian song folklore appeared in the Luza Komi repertoire. Inclusions of the Komi lexicon, transformed words and expressions are also marking features of the Luza lyrics. «Deviations» from the Russian texts are observed not only at the level of grammar, but also at the semantic level. Distortions at the level of lexicon lead to other turn of a plot.
