Popular beliefs in the folklore tradition of Baltic Old Believers

The article discusses the beliefs of Old Believers of Baltic countries. The author considers general Russian beliefs associated with popular calendar, family, and occasional rites as well as specific Old Believers` prohibitions and requirements for religious life. In the middle of the twentieth century deeply religious Old Believers perceived their life as a continuous rite, and their folk beliefs occupied a significant place within these views and strongly regulate life of Old Believer communities.
