There in multiple South Slavic oral epic songs manifestation of the plot scheme, represented by a Russian bylina epic “Lithuanians’ Raid”, namely abduction of the hero’s sister and following pursuit of the kidnapper, has affected regular changing of the main characters’ ethnicity, attributes and roles. In the paper it is exemplified in vast comparative Slavic material. The author designates such epic plots, migrating constantly from one ethnic milieu to another, as doublets or epic and ethnic “twins”. Usually their appearance was restricted to given regional limits and thus they didn’t contact and couldn’t influence each other, so similarity may be regarded as typology form. Some songs utter lauded names, which belong to history prototypes from the 16th — 17th centuries, such specimen may be attributed as “historicized”. It can be argued that both Bulgarians and Russians once had mastered plenty songs on the theme of abduction of the hero’s sister to not a less extent, than Bosnians and Dalmatians. Considered subject was caused by the very historical reality, because there existed an unwritten rule, which obliged a brother to protect and rescue his sister, despite any circumstances.
