Body

There in the paper genetic relations between plots, based on the collision with a sister, her brothers and her lover involved in, are traced for Slavic oral epic songs, primarily ballades. The disgraced sister dies in the majority of considered texts. Motifs of incest and postmortem transformations of her body are involved, her lover turns to be mythologized, losing human features. The protagonist and the antagonist can be reversed mirror-like in the plot- character narrative structure. It reflects perception of the basic conflict from the perspective of the maiden’s either own or alien kindred. Uprise of this ballade circle dates back to the period of crisis of primitive relations with prevalence of exogamous marriage, while "brothers" were understood as all the young men belonging to the woman’s kindred and hostile to her chosen one as an outsider.
