The well-known I. A. Shlyapkin’s manuscript collection, preserved in Saratov, has included a folklore record, done by N. N. Bart — O. F. Miller’s female student, also a listener of the Higher education courses for women in St. Petersburg. It was recorded near Petrozavodsk in Uzhesel’ga village in the in the early 1880s. The young lady’s name was unknown among the folklorists, but I. A. Shlyapkin witnessed the collector’s activity in his notes. Recordings of N. N. Bart are of great interest for folklore studies because they contain valuable information about oral appearance of fairy tales in the locality from where no recordings had been collected before. This paper introduces into scholarly circulation new names of folklore performers, whose repertoire had not been published previously, while including such valuable genres as bylina epics, totally 3 items, as well as 5 items of fairy tales. Special attention is paid to the analysis of fairy tales, performed by Aksen Aleksandrovich Lyabishnyy.
