Characteristic features of wedding ritualism of Buryats of the Inner Mongolia Au- tonomous Region of People’s Republic of China (ARIM PRC) are singled out and described in the paper. On the basis of field materials on folklore and oral creativity, collected during folklore expeditions at IMAR PRC from the local group of the Buryat population, residing compactly in a multi-ethnic environment, the cycle of wedding ceremonies is considered at different stages of performance. Ceremony elements: pre-wedding rituals, including marriage proposal, preparatory moments, a feast and bride’s farewell, a joint wedding celebration are analyzed in the context of tra- ditional worldview and beliefs of Buryats, wider — the Mongolian nations. The author concludes that wedding ceremonies and marriage rituals of Buryats of Inner Mongolia, being of great impor- tance in the expansion of kin relations, the reproduction of the progeny, preserve steady features of traditionalism rooted in deep antiquity. In the paper, dealing primarily with characteristic of traditional Buryat wedding, considerable attention is paid to identifying the key stages of a wed- ding alliance of young Chinese Buryats nowadays. As a result of her research of folklore material on wedding ritualism of Buryats of Inner Mongolia the author comes to the following conclusion: the obtained data have revealed high degree of integrity and typological depth of the wedding complex of the local group of Buryats living in the foreign-language environment. Besides, they allow to ana- lyze character and dynamics of changes happening in the traditional culture of Buryats as a whole.
