The wedding rite of the Sulket village, Kuitunsky district, Irkutsk region

he article is a publication of the wedding ritå and wedding songs recorded from a singing group called “Rushnichki” (Sulket village, Irkutsk province). The performers are the descendants of Belorussian migrants who left their “motherland” villages in Minsk province at the beginning of XX-th century for better life in Eastern Siberia. The members of the singing group have decided to reconstruct the wedding ritå of their ancestors.
