Water symbols in Russian oral charms

This article is devoted to the studies of “water” symbols in Russian oral charms. Consistently analyzing medical, love and cattle breeding charms, the author reveals some of steady “water” motives. Based on the assumption that the symbolics of water is defined, first of all, by its qualities, the author finds out which properties of water are staticized in texts of various functional groups and how these properties define “water” symbolics.
