Victor Victorovich Bartenev — the revolutionary, the ethnographer, and the specialist in folklore

The article is dedicated to V. V. Bartenev’s biography (1864—1920). He was a revolutionary who was living in exile in the village of Obdorsk in Western Siberia where he collected an ethnographic material about Ostyaks, and also about the Russian population of the region. V. V. Bartenev has recorded Russian songs in Obdorsk. The author considers V. V. Bartenev’s political activity and specifies circumstances of his death.
