The article is devoted to the question of folklore singing in Batama village which was founded in 1908 in the Eastern Siberia during the Stolypin Agrarian Reform by Ukrainians from Volodarsk-Volynskii district of Zhitomir province. The repertoire of Ukrainian and Siberian villages are compared and the effects of time and geography on the dynamics of musical traditions are investigated.
