Traditional kantele playing in Russian Karelia (based on archive sources and museum collections)

The article examines the traditional Karelian string musical instrument kantele: its construction, production technologies, repertoire and territory of usage. The article is based on archive sources, the author’s ethnographic expedition findings and museum collection analyses.
