Russian folk songs in life of Olga Kovaleva

The article is dedicated to the singer, the performer of Russian folk songs Olga Kovaleva ( 1881—1962). She was born in a village and lived there till the age of sixteen. She studies singing, was an opera singer for a year, and after that she decided to return to her roots — to folk songs performanсe. The traditional folk culture influences over the singer’s further creative work. The period of her life till 1917 is the subject of the present research.
