On the question of holy springs cult in XIX century: models of behavior and practice of decision-making

The author considers two cases of different attitude towards holy springs by officials and people of various social classes in the villages within former Saint-Petersburg province in the middle of XIX c. Conflicts among priests, bureaucracy, and peasants during reclamation of the springs were provoked by contradictions between traditional and juridical attitude to the natural holy places.
