To the question of domestic musical folkloristics origin as a science and academic subject (on materials of the late 1860s)

The article is dedicated to the period of the 1860s, which marked the start of Russian activities of several major scientific organizations operations that studied popular culture. Through the example of scientific works by A. Vladimirsky, V. Odoevsky, D. Razumovsky the author shows the relationship of ethnomusicology with related disciplines.
