Every time and every community has its heroes. Oleg Igorevich Genisaretsky (1942–2022) was such a person. His work organically embodied an original literary and philosophical understanding of the world, seen through the prism of self-assessment and humanitarian activity. Genisaretsky lived through the epochal decades at the turn of the millennium, a much promising era of transformation, and he tried to use his mental and practical abilities fully, for the humanitarian development of Russian society. This article presents the author’s recollections of only one of Genisaretsky’s many activities, those related to visual anthropology.
