Ornitomorphic images in the composition of the traditional Buryat adornments

The images of birds in the decorations of Buryat adornments are one of important semantic decorative elements in the symbolic system of the costume and adornments are considered. The author analyzed significance and genesis of ornitomorphic motives, their relation with archaic ritual and mythological ideas, with East Asian and Buddhist culture and imaginative system. The items from the collections of museums and publications are used as a source for the article.
