«Miloduha da se milujemo» — rituals, magical practice and poems

This papers analyses verses of several Serbian folk lyrical poems which are based on floral magic. Examples of ritual and magical practice show how this kind of magic used to be employed in the ritual practice related to love and marriage. It is concluded that the verses of these poems are based on rituals, i.e. that phytonymic magical formulae of love have been “poetically canonised”.
