Matrimonial topics in Maslenitsa ritual complex (based on materials of folklore expeditions to Kaluga region)

The article focuses on matrimonial motives in traditional Maslenitsa celebration of Kaluga region. Maslenitsa rituals associated with newly married couples are considered as the final stage of marriage. Therefore semantics and functions of elements of marriage rituals as part of Maslenitsa ritual complex are analyzed and their role in Maslenitsa song repertory development is explored.
