The article is the first to study Sakha (Yakut) ritual music in terms of its typological similarities with the ones of other Yakutian peoples: Evens, Evenki, and Yukaghirs. The similarity of these chants is manifested in their respective ceremonial rituals: well-wishing incantations, round songs and dances, and shamanistic rituals. The same similarities can be found in improvisational character and monotonous nature of melos. The diversities are manifested in the language, melodics, and tone colour of Yakutian peoples’ ritual chants.
