The electronic chain-letters: regarding the genre transformation

The article presents the generalized results of the project of collecting the electronic chain-letters, carried out by the author assisted by the correspondent network in 2002—2010. As subsidiary material for the diachronic analysis, the early manuscript sources published in various printed publications were used. The conclusion is made of the continuous development of this genre both in written and virtual media of existence.
